The Devil In Your Head
For many of us there comes times in life when our minds become cluttered with constant thoughts, doubts, questions, and negative thinking. When we focus all of our attention on this drama going on inside our heads we tend to not focus on the present moment. That is why mindfulness is a healthy practice to ground the body to the present moment and enjoy the little things in life. In all honestly the present moment is the only thing that matters. What is going on at this very moment is it! When our minds are focused on thoughts or the future we just let time pass us without enjoying every minute of it. Mindfulness can be as easy as following the breathe in and out, focusing on the details of your surroundings, or even focusing on the sounds of your surroundings. Mindfulness is my favorite form of meditation because it truly shows that you can incorporate meditation into every part of life. It doesn't have to be a practice that an individual has to practice once a day treating it like a chore. Life can be a meditation and the easiest way is through mindfulness. When ever the mind becomes so cluttered that brain fog occurs, practice this form of meditation and give the mind a break. Sometimes I think of too many thoughts in the mind as a little devil in our heads. All he is doing is creating more stress, more confusion, and more doubt within our minds feeding off of our reactions. Shut up this little devil, breathe, and focus on the present moment in life.
